Artists at Work!

Last week we worked some more on our cheetah drawings.  Before we began we looked closely at some images of cheetahs and noticed a lot of details!  Did you know they have a black mark that travels from their eye to their mouth?  Its called a tear drop.  They are covered in black spots but the spots are not all the same size.  The cheetah is a golden yellow in colour.

Once we finished colouring the body we used the iPads and searched for images of the cheetah's habitat.  We were very good at using the technology responsibly and found all kinds of images that gave us a clear picture of their habitat.  We shared our findings with each and then couldn't wait to add this detail to our drawings.  We have a few more finishing touches to put on so check back in a few days to see pictures of our finished product.

Here is a sneak peek at a cheetah . . .
Amazing for a grade 2 student!

  2. Wow, Grade twos! Your cheetahs are very well drawn and I can tell that you learned about them before you drew them! I didn't know about the "tear drop" - good research! The wild cats are not easy to draw - congratulations on a project well done.
