Global Read Aloud!

This week was the start to the Global Read Aloud!  For information on what the GRA is click on the link below. globalreadaloud.wikispaces.com

Mrs. Betts chose the Author study option so we are reading books by Amy Krouse Rosenthal!  This week was the official kick-off and we started by reading "Chopsticks."  We really enjoyed the play on words and the message behind the book.  After reading the book we talked a lot about the message.  We realized that although it is nice to "stick together" with our friends, sometimes it is good to "stand alone" too! We shared things we like to do with friends and things we like to do on our own. We used our iPads to share our thinking . . . Take a look!

Thank you to our Big Buddies who helped us use the app "Skitch" for the first time to create our pictures.

What do you like to do alone?  Do you have a special someone you like to "stick" with?

We are looking forward to our next book . . . Duck! Rabbit!
