Future Gymnasts?

During the past few weeks, we have been working on our gymnastics skills during our gym periods.  We learned various rolls, including the log roll, pencil roll and forward roll, and how to balance on one, two or three points on our body.  We also learned how to dismount from the beam safely, and set up and take down the mats.

This afternoon we shared our routines with our parents at the end of the day.  Our routine had to have the following: a balance (for three seconds), a roll, move onto the beam and do two types of balances (one low and one high), a safe dismount, another roll and another balance at the end for three seconds.
Some of us were very creative with our balances!

We had to work to keep our knees and ankles together!

A solid dismount - knees are bent and arms are in front, so that you can catch yourself in case you lose your balance!

Thanks to all the parents who came to watch us this afternoon!  We enjoyed showing you our routines!  How do you move your body?  Can you balance on only one, two or three points?
