On Friday afternoon all the Grade 2s had a special guest come from the City of Surrey to
talk to us about the importance of not littering and about ways that we
can keep our city clean. She reminded us about the three types of bins
that we use for garbage, recycling and compost, and we reviewed the
types of materials that go into each bin.
After her presentation, we donned vests and gloves and grabbed tongs for
a playground cleanup. We picked up two bags of garbage, and worked
together to clean up our entire schoolyard.
