On Friday we worked on our mapping skills again. We began by making our desks point North, and marking North on our compass rose. Then we found four objects to put onto our desks, and took a 'bird's eye' view photo. Then we used this photo to create our own map, showing where each item was on our desk. We used symbols instead of drawing the entire item, and created a legend to show the meaning of each symbol. Next week we will trade maps, and see if others can read our map and lay out the objects in the same placement. Do you know how to read a map legend?
