Our First Mystery Number Skype Date!

Today was our first mystery number Skype date!  Mrs. de Jager set it up with a teacher that she used to work with in Abbotsford.  We all gathered in the Wolves' room and anxiously awaited the call.  We had our hundreds charts and markers ready for the first clue!

Unfortunately, the reception wasn't great.  They kept cutting in and out, and freezing on us!  We had trouble hearing them and they had trouble hearing us too!  That didn't stop us though!  We were problem solvers!  We eventually heard the clues and we were off and working!

Here are the clues they gave us . . . .
1.  Our number is greater than 75 but less than 100.
2.  The sum of the digits is 11 -
3.  Our number is an even number.

That second clue took some quick thinking on our part! What numbers when added together make 11? . . . 9 and 2, 8 and 3, 7 and 4, 6 and 5!

We guessed their number and they guessed ours!

Can you guess the number they were thinking of?

We can't wait for another opportunity to share our math thinking with someone else!
Yeah!  We solved the problem!
How do you share your math thinking?  Have you ever had a mystery number Skype date with another class?
