Signs of Spring!

This past week we talked about the signs of spring.  We noticed that it is getting warmer outside, there are many cherry blossoms on the trees, and we hear more birds singing!  Mrs. de Jager led our class and hers through a directed drawing of a birdhouse.  After practicing the drawing on our whiteboards, we transferred our drawing onto paper and added details.  Then we outlined our pictures in brightly coloured pastels.



















Then we painted our pictures using water colour paints.


















We added a bird that we made out of construction paper and colourful feathers to finish our projects.

    I love your Pictures! They are all beautiful! Spring is definitely my favourite season. I have notice that there are lots of birds singing in the morning, and lots of Robins out on the lawn finding worms. What is your favourite sign of spring?

      Thank you for commenting on our blog. We like it when people go on our blog and leave us a comment. We did a class survey. We asked everyone what their favourite sign of spring was. This is what we found out! 19 people in our class like flowers, 13 people chose cherry blossoms as their favourite sign of spring, 3 people liked the sun best, 2 people liked that it was getting warmer outside and 1 person liked that you could garden. Mrs. de Jager's class did this survey with us!

    Cool! Great Survey! All of those things are why Spring is the best. Thanks for answering my question. I have to agree with the person who picked gardening as their favourite!! When we lived in Alberta there was no gardening in April:)
    Karys can tell you that there is usually still snow on the ground until May!

    every morning in the weekend i hear birds singing and some frogs live in our pond that drive my sister jessie nuts. they are so noisy when we go to bed.danielle

    The birds sing outside my window in the morning and wake me up too! I love to hear them - just not at 4:30 in the morning!! I don't hear any frogs though. We used to have a pond behind our house but now all we have is more houses! Maybe Jessie and I should get earplugs?
