This week we played a new math game that helped us practice our math facts and number strategies. It was called Beat 10. The object of the game is to be the first one finished. You get to move your piece if the "sum" of your two cards is more than ten. We reviewed what the word sum meant and then we were off. Many of us were able to use some of the number strategies that we had learned. Mrs. Betts heard people saying "9+7- well 10+7 is 17 so 9+7 is 16!" Or "7+8, well 7+7 is 14 so 7+8 must be 15!" Way to go Cheetahs!
