For the last few weeks before spring break, we worked hard to build a
community. We know that a community provides five things to people: places to live-shelter,
ways to keep people safe-safety systems, ways to help people move from one place to another - transportation, places to buy things -services and places to relax and have fun - recreation. We worked
together in groups to create various building and vehicles to make our
community complete. After spring break, we will display our community
in the front foyer of our school. Check back to see what it looks like once we put it all together!
We all appreciate garbage trucks that take away our compost, recycling, and garbage!
Have you ever been to a Theme Park?
Here is the Taekwondo school. Do you do any activities outside of school that help to keep your body active and healthy?
Taxi! Taxi, please! They take you anywhere you want to go!
Sticky's Candy Store is a favourite for many of us and it's right beside Cotton and Crayon (a local toy store!)
You can buy so much at WalMart . . groceries, toys, clothes and so much more!
Coffee anyone? Starbucks is a great place for coffee, hot chocolate and some delicious treats!
Mmmmm Subway sandwiches!
Catch a ride on our skytrain!
Every community needs a hospital and fire station. They help keep us safe!
The police station with the jail on top!
Of course we need a place to learn! Here is our school.
Another hotel. We think there might be a good view from the top floor!
We had a fantastic time creating our community! Have you ever used recycled materials to create something new?
I would like to live in your community! It looks like a really great place to live. you thought of everything!! I enjoyed looking at all your pictures and seeing your neat ideas. I would really like to stay on the top floor of your cool hotel, is there an ocean view like White Rock? Thanks for sharing your community project. Great Job Grade 2's !!

I forgot to say that I also really appreciate that you included a garbage truck and recycling services in your community. That was very thoughtful. Can you imagine living in a place that had no where to put their trash??
