What do snowmen really do at night?

Last Friday we read the book, "Snowmen at Night."  After our discussion during the week on the characteristics of fiction and nonfiction books we knew this was a fiction story.  It was fun to wonder if that's what really happens to snowmen at night.  We decided that it wasn't.  Some of us think they melt a bit and that's why they look different the next day.  Others had interesting reasons why snowmen might look different the next day.  They said maybe the wind blew them  a bit, or maybe other people touch them and that's why they are a little different the next day!  It was a great discussions with lots of ideas from people.  We looked closely at how the author drew the pictures of the snowmen.  We noticed the different types of hats they wore, the different coloured scarves they had on, we noticed some had mitts on, some had ear muffs.  They were all so different. Then for art we made snowmen to hang in our class.  We had so much fun creating our own unique snowmen.  Mrs. Betts took a picture of some of them before we hung them up.  We hope you like them!
