Today we were lucky to have the group Sportball come in to our class and teach us some fun games that help develop our skills of throwing, catching, kicking and blocking. The first thing we did was to warm up our bodies through some fun running games. We also learned how to do "burpees" which some of us found really hard!
After we were warmed up we did a variety of activities involving balls. The first activity was called popcorn. Lee had two buckets of balls, one was tennis balls and one was coloured plastic balls. On the count of three he threw them in the air. We had to find a partner and then each of us picked up a ball. Next we had to squeeze another ball between the balls and carry it to the proper bucket. That was hard!
After we did this we got to practice throwing a ball through a hoop that our partner was holding. Our partner held it high and then moved it. Some of us had really good aim! We also practiced kicking a ball correctly and tried to score on the goalie.
We had so much fun! Thank you Sportball for showing us some great ways to practice our skills.
