An Unexpected Visitor

Today we had an unexpected visitor come to our school.  It was an owl on our school roof!  Most of us saw it at recess time.  After recess we shared what we knew about owls.  We talked about the difference between snow owls and barn owls.  We connected that to our knowledge about habitats and that different types of owls live in different habitats.

Have you ever seen an owl in its natural habitat?

  1. We have an owl living in our back yard that looks just like this one. Sometimes when I take the dog out in the evening it will be sitting on the post of our veggie garden hunting for food. It is not scared of me or even the dog and just watches us quietly. He "Who Who Whoo" all evening long. Wonder what this owl was doing out and about during the daytime? From: Jessica's Mom - Tracy
