What's an Attribute?

Last week in Math we explored the many ways that things can be sorted!  We have some treasure boxes in our room that are filled with . . . . "treasures!"  We worked in pairs to find ways that we could sort the objects in the box.  Take a look at what we discovered. . . .

After we had a chance to work with a variety of materials we met back as a group and listed all the ways objects can be sorted.  We were introduced to the term "attributes."  An attribute is a way of describing something. . . .we noticed we can sort by size, shape, colour, species or kind, texture.

I wonder what our math challenge will be next week?
